In this unit we are going to review the past tense.

We use the past tense to talk about things that happened in the past, so we can find expresions of time such as Yesterday ( ayer), Last ( last week: la semana pasada), last year ( el año pasado), ago ( 2 days ago: hace 2 días)...

Negative:

was not= wasn´t

were not= weren´t

Verbs can be divided into regular and irregular.


Regular verbs form the past tense adding ED.

Regular verbs: washed, cleaned, dried, brushed...

Irregular verbs change when they are in the past tense for example swim changes to swam in the past, draw changes to drew, write changes to wrote, take changes to took and read doesn´t change when we write it but changes the pronunciation ( /red/ como rojo en inglés cuando está en pasado)

Climates of Spain

Spain has different climates.

España tiene diferentes climas.

 Most of Spain is in the temperate zone, but the Canary Islands are in the hot zone. 

La mayor parte de España está en la zona templada, pero las Islas Canarias están en la zona cálida.

 The coastal regions of Spain are warmer than the interior. The mountain regions are colder.

 Las regiones costeras de España son más cálidas que el interior. Las regiones montañosas son más frías.


 There are four types of  climates in Spain:  Mediterranean, Oceanic,  Subtropical and  Mountain.

Hay cuatro tipos de climas en España: Mediterráneo, Oceánico, Subtropical y de Montaña.

  Location. In the north of the Iberian Peninsula.

Temperatures. On the coast, temperatures are mild all year.

 Precipitation. There is lots of rainfall all year. 

Precipitación. Hay mucha lluvia todo el año.

There is lots of vegetation and the landscape is very green.

Hay mucha vegetación y el paisaje es muy verde.

  Subtropical climate Clima subtropical

Location. In the Canary Islands.

 Temperatures. On the coast, temperatures are mild all year. (mild: suave)

 Precipitation. There is very little rainfall all year. 

Precipitación. Hay muy poca lluvia todo el año.

There is very little vegetation.

Hay muy poca vegetación.
